Deputy Harvey was killed in an automobile accident in the line of duty. Deputy Harvey’s patrol vehicle suffered a blowout causing it to go out of control. During the blowout, Deputy Harvey was pursuing a speeding vehicle. The blowout caused Deputy Harvey’s vehicle to flip approximately 15 times, according to witnesses.

Deputy Harvey had served with the Jacksonville Police Department for three years and was survived by his wife.
